It’s funny in my time in studying my masters I have tried to incorporate so many things from my study into my classroom practice. One of the subjects I studied was Designing a Thinking Curriculum. To be honest I still struggle to get students to think at deep levels and I believe the reason is that I am a secondary college teacher. I don’t spend all my time with a group of students – I teach 150 + students and they are generally taught by to 10 different teachers. The students struggle to keep up with us, just as much as we struggle to keep up with them. So what I am alluding to is that fact that wether it’s online or in the classroom, what you do really depends on how use to it your students are, and if you do something radically different to everyone else you may have to overcome the students coming to terms with that.
